The beginning of Rock

This is where we start our history, Rock and Roll, Blues and R&B already exist.

Categuy05 : The term Rock and Roll was first coined by disc jockey Alan Freed in 1951.

Our Rock music history begins at the end of the 1950's. What is known as Rock'n'Roll has reached a climax and is about to change.

The direction to take has been shown the ingredients are available to bring Rock music alive.

The fathers of the Rockers to be, such as Bo Diddley, James Brown, Rufus Thomas, Muddy Waters, BB King, Chuck Berry, Otis Reding, Elvis, Bill Haley and many others have given inspiration and shown the direction to take. The Blues, R&B, Rock'n'Roll and Folk will all be combined and mixed together; to give a multitude of new sounds.

Microphones, electric guitars, keyboards and amplifiers have improved in quality allowing better stage performances with more volume. Recording techniques are changing rapidly. The Rock industry is ready.

It's a matter of days before the whole thing explodes on both sides of the Atlantic, music is about to change radically with the Rolling Stones and the Beatles leading the way.
