Ferry, Bryan

From

Listed under : Pop Rock 1981-1990

Martin : Known as an "art rock" band because of their artistic tendencies, Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music produced some great music at the turn of the 80s on two albums, "Flesh and Blood" and "Avalon".

On "Flesh and Blood" we find: "In the midnight hour", "Same old scene","Over you" and the strangely named, "Oh yeah" (which you think is going to be called "Song on the radio"). And then shortly after comes "Avalon", the pinnacle of the band's artistry. The title track "Avalon" is long and mysterious and presents the user with a bewildering range of sound effects inducing an almost dream-like state. Balancing this is the disco-infused single, "More than this".

You will not be disappointed by either album. Bryan and Roxy were also known for their glamorous cover art and "Flesh and Blood" which shows good looking female athletes holding spears and "Avalon" with its legendary feel (a mythical knight-like figure holding a hawk) do not disappoint.
