Buzzcocks

From England

Listed under : Punk 1976-1980

The Buzzcocks were a real 20th century pop group, They were a "Perfect Pop" group. They sprung to life after the depature Howard Devoto (who then created Magazine), in 1976 from Manchester, with a life span upto 1981. First EP "Spiral Scratch" on a real home label called New Hormone was released in Jan 1977. Pete had the talent to make a huge quantity of quality "Love songs", maybe the speed at which the Buzzcocks released records was a problem for their audience ?

The original line up of the group.
Pete Shelly, playing guitar and vocals.
Steve Diggle on guitar.
Steve Garvey on bass.
John Maher on drums.

Reformed in 1990 for "fun".

    Three albums:
  • Another Music in a different kitchen
  • Love Bites
  • A different kind of tension
