Generation XFrom England Listed under : Punk 1976-1980 Exire : You just cant deny what Billy Idol has done for rock music. When he first started out in a little band called Generation X. It turned out to be something huge and a big jump in punk rock. After Billy was there for awhile he went for a singles career which he completely blasted. Really his whole career can be off of a "F*** you" attitude about it. His music was great. Many of his songs did very well even though none went to number one mainstream wise. He was and still is a name that you don't forget. His music was different from what was usually listened to in the 80s with your Ozzy, Metallica, Motley Crue, Guns n Roses, etc. His was punk rock and is the reason for some bands such as Green Day or Good Charlotte. And whats more with that is that he isn't done making music! He has a new album coming out in march which i will without a shadow of a doubt buy. He may have a greatest hits but he isn't done yet and he was very influential in the 80s and 90s. Your almost supposed to show your respect to this man. His music is genius and deserves to be a part of the 80s era. Vote for this artist/group, current rating is : 0
