Although listed in the Folk section, you could easily class Janis as a Goddess of Rock, Soul, Jazz and Funk, her voice could sing in so many different colours. The person who gave Janis her last dose must have worked for the Devil... And He stole her from a world that needs to hear such a voice.

Michael : Janis broke onto the national scene at the Monterey Pops Festival along with Jimi Hendricks, Otis Redding and several other notable groups. This show was huge!! in the amount of talent - and Janis shown brightly among them.

A beautiful screaming voice that made many a young hippy cry. She left us on 4th October 1970, heroin over dose and was just 27 years old.
