Led Zeppelin

From Berkshire, UK

Listed under : Hard Rock

Remember trying to bend your fingers over the frets whilst some guy tried to teach you the Song.

Moby Dick, one of the greatest drum solos ever.

Orville Lee : Led Zeppelin are the masters of hard rock/heavy metal. The ultimate album band that never released singles and were blasted by critics at the time for their style and mysticism.

Their first six albums are classics and certified diamond sellers each with over 10 million in sales and counting. They took the delta blues and put their twist on it with a former Yardbirds guitarist, a session bass player, a teenage singer with pipes of gold and a drummer named Bonzo. Every generation since can thank them for their influence with many imitators coming along but never matching their sheer power. After 12 years together Zeppelin called it quits upon the accidental alcohol related death of their legendary drummer.

They still release posthumous compilations that sell extraordinarily well such as Coda and the Boxset.

Page and Plant reunited in 1994 singing old Zeppelin tunes and releasing new songs that were critically praised under the moniker Page and Plant.(Townsend and Roger Daltry should have took notice instead of exploiting The Who moniker). Zeppelin showed what being a band is all about. The bond between members is of more value than any dollar.

Coco : Led Zeppelin are one of the most legendary bands in history! They will forever reach our heart with their music! There beautiful song "Stairway to Heaven" was the longest song ever to hit number one on the charts. Led Zeppelin enjoyed their mix of music styles. "When the Levee Breaks" is a wonderful example of the blues!

Beard: When Zeppelin played Knebworth on 04/08/79 and 11/08/79,they used the biggest PA (600,000 Watts) and the biggest lighting rig (200,000 Watts) ever used in Europe. They played to a combined audience of over 600,000 over the 2 days. These were their only 2 concerts in England between 1975 and their final split after Bonzo's sad and premature death.
