One of the real rock groups that made real music and a long history. Tragic and legendary, the group produced some very important songs: Free Bird, Gimme back my bullets, Sweet home Alabama to name a few and one of the best rock albums: Street Survivors.

The band got together at highschool in 1964, Jacksonville, Florida.

The fatal plane crash which killed Ronnie VanZant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines and the tour manager was on October 20, 1977. The rest of the band and crew were badly injured.
