Moody Blues

From

Martin : The "Moodies" as they were affectionately known were musical experimenters and introduced their listeners to many different styles, from the spoken work ("Dear Diary") to electronica, from philosophical musings to all-time romantic favourites such as "Nights in white satin." On the album "A question of balance" this mix of styles is immediately evident. There is the longing romanticism of "And the tide rushes in" contrasted with the brash "in your face" nature of the title track, "Question" which suitably questions what we are all doing here and what we can do to create a better life for everyone. Other favourites include:

  • I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band
  • Tuesday afternoon
  • The voice
  • Stepping in a slide zone
  • etc
