Pink Floyd

From England

Listed under : Progressive Rock

Coco : Even though Pink Floyd is not often thought of as a blues rock band, It is perfectly true that they are. Their work with synthesized sounds is certainly off the topic of blues though. In their hit "Wish You Were Here", the basic blues beat is in the background.Pink Floyd entered the wonderful world of rock quite young, They changed the course of rock-and-roll in doing so.The members of the band were Roger Waters, David Gilmore, Syd Barret (became sick and left soon after the formation of the band),Nick manson and Richard Wright. in 1984, the Band went their separate ways.It was such a pity as they were known as one of the best Rock bands of the century.

A huge life span for a Rock group, loved by many and disliked by others. Pink Floyd turned an early psychedelic music into an lengthy symponic, hard and spacey rock.

They created quite a few rock classics with songs such as Money from the Dark side of the moon album in 1973, (741 weeks in the Billboard album charts), Wish you were here in 1975, The Wall in 1979 and others.

Floyd's concerts are of gigantic dimensions, with spectacular lighting and scenery.

Union between rock and symphonic music.Developed the synthetics sounds, made a style and bece one of the most important groups of rock's history (Ana Rita)

merock : Before Rogers left, Richard got kicked out. After Roger left Richard was hired by Dave and Nick for there album A momentary Lapse of Reason('87) and by the end of 93 he was back in Pink Floyd as a regular member. Recently in Live 8 Pink Floyd (Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright) played along with Roger Waters, and was one of the highlights of the event.
