Soft Cell

From UK

Listed under : Electronic 1981-1990

andyg : Soft Cell started out in 1977 playing in clubs and universities (strangely the very early stuff is available now from kazaa) until they self released their music under "Big Frock records" called Mutant Moments. With this, began the relationship with Some Bizzare Records who brought out a compilation of artists which included Soft Cell's "The girl with the patent leather face" from this time onwards they signed up with Some Bizare Records. Releasing "memorabilia" which was big club hit but then brought out "Tainted Love" rumoured to be first choice over "What" which came out later and as they say the rest is history.
