Alexandra Ramirez : Sonic Youth (like the Pixies) are one of the biggest bands never to have "made it". Regardless, they have been hailed as the grand-parents of grunge due to their edgy tunes and their help in creating Nirvana (Thurston) and Hole (Gordon).
