X-Ray Spex

From UK

Listed under : Punk 1976-1980

Gram Linds 2003 : Oh Bondage up yours!!, Identity and Germ free adolescents all classic British Punk from 77/78.

Get the album and relish songs like, Obsession/lets submerge/1977/day the world turned dayglo etc...

Poly Styrene lead singer was 18 in 77 and in perfect place to let flow during the punk explosion of that year. She was at early sex Pistols gigs and quickly formed her own band of punx, becoming a female adversary to J.Rotten in the making. Gigs at the Roxy and Vortex with Siouxsie & the Banshees in 77 and headline tours in 78, 2 or three hit singles and Top of the Pops appearances. This band were big news for that summer of punk in England 1977 and 78. Songs like Oh bondage up yours, Identity and Germ free adolescents proved the ability to write great songs, and even a sax player onboard!.

Great band and a great debut album in Germ Free Adolescents, buy it and listen to 77 punk Poly Styrene style.
