Yes

From London, England

Listed under : Progressive Rock

Yes came to life in 1968 with Jon Anderson, Peter Banks, Tony Kaye, Chris Squire and Bill Bruford.

Other members Rick Wakeman (check his album Journey to the centre of the earth).

Bob Wissinger : Yes is a progressive rock band whose first songs appeared in 1969. Although the composition of the band has changed over the years, founding members Jon Anderson and Chris Squire may be considered the core of the band. Anderson performed on all but one album while Squire performed on all official Yes albums. Rick Wakeman, on the other hand, has joined and left the band at least four times.

The early works of the band are generally considered to be their best, and they were in the early 1970s at the leading edge of progressive rock. Some consider the album Close to the Edge to be the high point of the whole genre. The classic line-up is usually quoted as Anderson Squire Howe Wakeman, together with either Bruford or White. Fans of this era commonly describe themselves as "Troopers", after the 3-part track "Starship Trooper" from The Yes Album.
